Our special Greek adventure starts with 1 night in ATHENS, with time on arrival to explore and have a typical Greek dinner, before starting our cruise. In just 5 days you will sail some of the most beautiful waters in the world, to ports that have captured man’s imagination for centuries. Stroll the marble streets of EPHESUS, an archaeological marvel dating from the 1st century B.C. Walk through medieval RHODES, where crusaders gathered before sailing to the Holy Land. Visit the monastery of St. John the Divine on PATMOS, where he wrote the apocalyptic "Revelations". Pass along the whitewashed streets and by the windmills of MYKONOS, which will enchant you. On CRETE, explore the fantastic Minoan ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Take a cable car up to FIRA and sit in an open air cafe watching the sun set over SANTORINI. Enjoy the last day in ATHENS, with a half day guided tour and time to explore, before transferring to the airport for our evening flight back to London.
Your cruise ship features a restaurant, a buffet, several bars, a show lounge, a night club, casino, a children’s club, swimming pool, fitness centre, gift shops, etc.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 : Early morning flight to ATHENS with transfer to our centrally located 5 star hotel. Free time on your own to discover Athens and find a nice restaurant for a Greek dinner in the evening.
DAY 2 : After breakfast we transfer to our cruise ship in the port of PIRAEUS. Time to explore before setting sail. Relax
and enjoy the ship’s facilities.
18.00–22.00 MYKONOS is one of the most famous islands in the Aegean attracting thousands of visitors
every year. It offers beautiful landscapes, picturesque white painted villages, an abundance of little churches,
windmills and a lovely sandy beach.
DAY 3 : 07:00 - 12:00 EPHESUS (Kusadasi) One of the world’s great historical sites; step back to Roman times
amongst the ruins of Ephesus. The LIBRARY is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Nearby, you
can also visit THE HOUSE OF THE VIRGIN MARY.
16:00 - 21:00 PATMOS One of the least commercial islands and where St John had his vision and wrote the
BOOK OF REVELATIONS. In 1981 the Greeks passed a law which decreed Patmos a Sacred Island.
DAY 4 : 07.00-18:00 RHODES Rhodes is said to be the island of the sun god Helios. According to mythology, he had fallen in love with the nymph Rhodes, and when he shone his light on her, she trans-formed into the island. The name means 'rose', and the island has for centuries been known for its wonderful flowers.
DAY 5 : 07.00-11.30 CRETE (Heraklion) Crete is the largest and the
most rugged of the Greek
islands. It was also the home
of the great Minoan Civilization
and the mythological home
of Zeus. The Venetian Port of
Heraklion is busy and bustling and very close to the
fantastic ruins of KNOSSOS PALACE.
16.00-21.00 SANTORINI, breathtakingly
beautiful, this volcanic island has a rich geological history and an array of
interesting archaeological
sites. It’s said that the
sunsets are amongst the
best in the world! On arrival
why not take a donkey ride
up to FIRA, the pretty and quaint capital of the island
DAY 6 : ATHENS We have an early arrival back at the port of Piraeus and, after disembarkation, drive to the centre of ATHENS for our included morning sight-seeing tour. There will be free time to shop and explore before transferring to the airport for our flight back to London.
