 DEVON, CORNWALL AND
THE EDEN PROJECT
Saturday 11 - Monday 13 October (ACS In-Service Day & ASL Hol)
DEVON is one of
England’s most beautiful counties, with many different
characters; green countryside, spectacular coastlines,
sleepy thatched villages and busy resorts.
Saturday 11: Our
route takes us West to PLYMOUTH where
we arrive in the early afternoon and visit the
MAYFLOWER STONE, (commemorating the
place where the Pilgrim Fathers left to start their new
life in America.) We then have some free time to explore
Plymouth Hoe and the historic Barbican area, before
travelling on to our hotel in the popular holiday resort
of TORQUAY
(‘the English Riviera’) with its good selection of shops, cinemas, gardens, entertainment and sandy beaches. We can pre-book dinner in the hotel tonight, (5 course dinner is £12.50.)
Sunday
12: Our tour today will take us into the lovely
county of CORNWALL, home to the now
world famous ‘EDEN PROJECT’, a dramatic
global garden the size of 30 football fields. You will
have plenty of time to explore the world’s biggest
Conservatories, housing plant life from climatic regions
from all over the Earth. We also visit one of the
prettiest coastal villages in England,
POLPERRO
. Tonight you are free to sample one of Torquay’s many restaurants.
 Monday 13: After
breakfast you may wish to join us for a delightful
little walk, through country lanes. to the thatched
village of COCKINGTON. We then rejoin
our coach and drive to the historic and charming little
town of DARTMOUTH
on the estuary of the beautiful River Dart. We then return to Torquay for some free time before starting our journey home.
