THE LAKE DISTRICT IN AUTUMN
Friday 31 October - Sunday 2 November (School Break)
This fabulous tour
explores one of England’s most beautiful National Parks;
THE LAKE DISTRICT ,
immortalised by the lakeland poets including William
Wordsworth – an area not only of magnificent lakes but
also spectacular mountains.
On this 3 day tour, we shall be
visiting some of the most famous lakes in the area,
including WINDERMERE,
DERWENTWATER,
GRASMERE, ETC, as well
as WORDSWORTH’S COTTAGE and,
weather permitting, take a BOAT
TRIP on one of the beautiful lakes. You will
also have the opportunity to shop in and explore the
pretty lakeland towns of AMBLESIDE and
BOWNESS
.
One of the highlights of the tour
will be an opportunity to visit BEATRIX POTTER’S
COTTAGE - HILLTOP recently filmed in the movie
‘Mrs Potter’. This quaint cottage was an inspiration for
Beatrix Potter in writing many of her wonderful tales,
and there are often features of the cottage she
illustrated in her books. The children will also enjoy
visiting ‘THE WORLD OF BEATRIX POTTER’ , in Bowness, where many of her
characters are
brought to life in colourful tableaux depicting scenes
from all 23 of her magical tales.
Our hotel is situated right in the
heart of the fine old market town of
KESWICK, capital of the Northern Lakes
area. Just a short walk away is
DERWENTWATER which,
surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, is one of the
most picturesque of all the Lakes.
