Join us for this exciting Air and Coach tour to Italy, featuring enchanting Tuscany and historic Rome.

Tuscany delights visitors with the splendour of its art, and variety of landscapes. Bordered by the Apennine chain of mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Tuscany has become one of the most popular destinations in Italy.

FRIDAY 21: Morning departure from Heathrow by Alitalia scheduled flight to ROME.  On arrival, we will be met by our local guide for our coach transfer to Tuscany and our hotel in the lovely spa town of CHIANCIANO TERME.  Our route takes us via the stunning hill-top town of ORVIETO, home to one of Italy's most impressive cathedrals, dating from the 13th century, and was built to commemorate the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. DINNER OPTION: In your hotel tonight.

Church in OrvietoSATURDAY 22: Today we visit FLORENCE, where you may wish to explore and shop on your own, or alternatively, take the optional guided tour with a local city guide.  No trip to Florence would be complete without a visit to the ACCADEMIA, home to Michael Angelo’s Statue of ‘DAVID’. DINNER OPTION: This evening you may wish to join the rest of the group at a Tuscan Palazzo in sampling some authentic local cuisine and wine.

SUNDAY 23: We drive this morning to one of Tuscany’s most beautiful towns, SIENA, and take an   included walking tour with a local guide, to see its magnificent cathedral, narrow streets, and the world famous Piazza del Campo.  This afternoon, we visit SAN GIMIGNANO, the ‘Small Manhattan’, so named for its 13 medieval defensive towers.  The town is set in the heart of the Chianti wine growing region.  DINNER OPTION: In  your hotel.
 
MONDAY 24: This morning, we visit PERUGIA, an town which dates back to Etruscan times, set in the heart of Umbria,  with stunning views over the surrounding countryside.  After lunch, we continue to biblical ASSISI, where you can see the amazing  frescoes by Giotto depicting the life of St Francis, in the awe inspiring BASILICA OF ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI. DINNER OPTION: This evening you will have the option to dine in a local Tuscan Farm house.

TUESDAY 25:  We spend our last day in ROME, where you will have the opportunity to visit the VATICAN MUSEUM, the SISTINE CHAPEL, the BASILICA of ST PETER,  the COLOSSEUM etc. You will then have the choice of free time to visit some of the other famous sites or maybe shop, or take an optional guided tour with a local guide, before leaving the Eternal City for the airport and our flight home.
