CHINA FEATURING BEIJING & XIAN

Saturday 7 - Sunday 15 February 2009 (School Break)

A mix of ancient history and world heritage sites such as “The Great Wall” and “The Terracotta Army”. China is also the ‘manufacturer to the world’, making shopping just about the best value anywhere!

Saturday 7: LONDON - BEIJING Flight departs late afternoon from Heathrow.
Sunday 8: Arriving early afternoon, we will have time to do a short orientation, some shopping and enjoy our first Chinese meal.

Monday 9: Enjoy a full day tour of Beijing, including “Tiananmen Square”, “The Forbidden City” and the “Temple of Heaven”.
Evening Option: to the famous Beijing Opera Show.

Tuesday 10: BEIJING - XIAN After a short flight to Xian, followed by lunch, we visit the City Walls, The Goose Pagoda and the Drum and Bell Towers.
Evening Option: The spectacular Tang Dynasty Show and Gala Dumpling Banquet.

Wednesday 11 : Today we see one of the highlights of our trip, “The Terracotta Warriors”. There are at least 6,000 life size figures of the first Qin Emperor’s Imperial Guard, and each is different!
Included meal and free time tonight to explore Xian’s extensive shopping facilities.

Thursday 12: XIAN - BEIJING Flight back to Beijing, where we visit the 800 year old “Summer Palace”, which contains the worlds oldest imperial garden. Free time to shop.
 Evening Option: Peking Duck Banquet.

Friday 13: Another highlight of our tour today, “The Great Wall”, stretching for thousands of miles across Northern China and built more than 2600 years ago! Test your bargaining skills at the local shops/markets! Later, we visit the famous “Ming Tombs”, burial place of 13 Chinese Emperors.
Included meal and free time tonight to explore Beijing’s extensive shopping facilities.

Saturday 14: Previous clients said they would have appreciated an extra day at the end of the tour for free time so this year we have included an extra day for you to do whatever you want in Beijing.

Sunday 15: BEIJING - LONDON Transfer to Beijing Airport for the lunchtime flight back to Heathrow
