GREEK ISLAND CRUISE ABOARD A CHARTERED YACHT
Friday 10 - Wednesday 15 April
Experience the Greek Islands in a way that many only dream of - a unique cruise, on exclusive charter to Gemmaway Travel.
The traditionally styled
M/S GALILEO
is a 25 cabin motor sailor, combining something of the romance and adventure of a private yacht with all the comfort and service of a larger cruise ship.
The itinerary boasts a wealth of
historic sites, from ancient to medieval, and a unique
timeless atmosphere. The highlights include visits to
the wonderful islands of POROS,
HYDRA, SPETSES and
AEGINA, plus the historic ports of
MONEMBASIA and
NAUPLION on the
Peloponnese coast.
Our cruise
finishes in ATHENS followed by an
included city tour, and time to explore and shop on your
own before flying back to the UK. You also have the
option of extending your time in Athens either before or after
the cruise.
Itinerary Friday 10: Fly London to Athens and transfer to Marina
Zeal
for embarkation on the Galileo. Sail for
Poros Island.. Dinner on board. On arrival in Poros, there is time for an evening out in this pretty
harbour, lined with taverns and bars, all with a very traditional Greek feel and laid back atmosphere.
Saturday 11
: Early morning departure for Monemvasia. We stop on the way for a spot of swimming or fishing in a secluded bay with crystal clear waters. We arrive in Monemvasia in time for lunch (not

morning for the stylish island of Spetses, favoured by
wealthy Athenians, For a 3 hour visit. Why not take a
horse drawn carriage around the delightful harbour and
town, where the motor car is banned. Explore the narrow
lanes with their 19th century architecture and scores of
arty curiosity shops to tempt you. We then sail for
Nauplion, with lunch on board and arrive late afternoon.
Nauplion boasts a wealth of Venetian, Ottoman and Neo
Classical architecture, crowned by a majestic Venetian
castle. Explore the fascinating old town, before
choosing one of the many traditional Greek Restaurants
for dinner (not included).
