City of YorkYORK AND YORKSHIRE
Friday 23 - Sunday 25 January 2009

This tour to north-east England combines the ancient CITY OF YORK and the beautiful countryside and scenic coast of YORKSHIRE.

YORK:  We spend 2 nights in this enchanting walled city with its magnificent Cathedral (Minster), medieval cobbled streets, museums and old buildings.   York is often regarded as England’s second city, and boasts numerous attractions for the visitor including the Jorvic Centre Captain Cookwhere you can travel back 1000 years to the Viking era.   Other attractions include theNational Railway Museum, the fantastic Castle Museum, where you can see thecondemned cell of the infamous highwayman, Dick Turpin.   Don’t forget to leave time to stroll the City Walls and visit the interesting shops.  York is one of England’s most haunted cities, and you can wrap up warm and enjoy afrightfully good ghost walk (optional) on one of the dark chilly nights!!   Our family run hotel is situated just outside of the city walls and features an indoor swimming pool.

NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS: One of England’s famous National Parks. We drive through this remote and rugged National Park to  the North Sea coast, and on the way, for those Harry Potter fans, we will make a short  visit to ‘Hogwarts Station’Hogwarts Station

WHITBY: The famous fishing port on the North Sea, connected with Captain Cook and Count Dracula!  The quaint cobbled streets and spectacular coastline are overlooked by its awe-inspiring abbey ruins.
