Join us for this exciting tour of Italy, featuring enchanting Tuscany and historic Rome.
Tuscany
delights visitors with the splendour of its art and the variety of
landscapes, which has made it one of the most popular
destinations in Italy.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: Morning flight from London to Rome. On arrival, we will be met by our local guide for our coach transfer to Tuscany and our hotel in the lovely spa town of CHIANCIANO TERME. Our route takes us via the stunning hill-top town of ORVIETO, home to one of Italy's most impressive cathedrals, dating from the 13th century. Dinner is included in your hotel tonight.
DAY 2 : Today we visit FLORENCE, where you may wish to explore and shop on your own, or alternatively, take the optional guided tour with a local city guide. No trip to Florence would be complete without a visit to the ACCADEMIA, home to Michelangelo's Statue of David. Your will have time for an early dinner in one of Florence's many excellent restaurants before returning to our hotel.
DAY 3 : We drive this morning to one of Tuscany's most
beautiful
towns, SIENA,
where we take an included walking tour with a
local guide, to see its magnificent cathedral, narrow streets, and the
world famous Piazza del
Campo. In the
afternoon, we visit PIENZA, a delightful Tuscan town where The English Patient was filmed. You are free this evening to have dinner in one of Chianciano Terme's many restuarants.
DAY 4 : This morning, we visit biblical ASSISI, where you can see the amazing frescoes by Giotto depicting the life of St Francis, in the awe inspiring BASILICA OF ST FRANCIS. Later we drive directly to ROME where you will have time to experience this magnificent city on your own and enjoy a leisurely dinner.
DAY 5: We have the day in ROME,
where
you will have free time to visit the VATICAN MUSEUM, the SISTINE CHAPEL, the BASILICA of ST PETER,
the COLOSSEUM and more. In the afternoon you have the choice of taking an
optional guided walking/coach tour of Rome, before leaving the Eternal
City for the airport and our flight home.
