Whitby on the North Yorks Coast

This tour combines the ancient CITY OF YORK, the excitement of the VIKING FESTIVAL and the beautiful countryside and scenic coast of YORKSHIRE.

We spend 2 nights in the enchanting walled City of York with its magnificent Cathedral (Minster), medieval cobbled streets, museums and old buildings. York is often regarded as England’s second city, and boasts numerous attractions for the visitor including the Jorvic Centre where you can travel back 1000 years to the Viking era. Our tour takes place during the annual Viking Festival and you will be able to share the streets with Viking re-enactors and also watch them battle against the local Celtic tribesmen! Other attractions include the National Railway Museum, the fantastic Castle Museum, where you can see the condemned cell of the infamous highwayman, Dick Turpin. Don’t forget to leave time to stroll the City Walls and visit the interesting shops. York is one of England’s most haunted cities, and you can wrap up warm and enjoy a frightfully good GHOST WALK (optional) on one of the dark spooky nights!!

Our 3-star hotel is very well situated in the centre of York and offers a special 3-course evening dinner at just £15.00 per person (children under 14 only £7.50), provided you pre-book when booking the tour.

Our day out will visit:
The NORTH YORK MOORS: One of England’s famous National Parks. We drive through this remote and rugged National Park to the North Sea coast, and on the way, for those Harry Potter fans, we will make a short visit to 'Hogwarts Station'.

WHITBY: The famous fishing port on the North Sea, connected with Captain Cook and Count Dracula! The quaint cobbled streets and spectacular coastline are overlooked by its awe-inspiring abbey ruins.

ROBIN HOOD’S BAY: A picturesque coastal village, tumbling down to the sea, and once the haunt of smugglers.
